The stevedores at the port of Bilbao have returned to work today after 57 days of strike, since last October 9. The return to normality in the Port will allow the start of conversations between the unions and Bilboestiba following the roadmap proposed by the ministry.
The parties must meet, at least in two bilateral meetings in the next few days and then hold a trilateral meeting, with the Ministry of Labor that is already called for December 22.
The decision of the unions to “not exercise the right to the huega” was taken yesterday, after the Ministry sent a letter to the parties asking them to start the negotiation process and hold a minimum of two meetings bipartite “as committed in this process, until December 21”.
The following day, the 22nd, the first tripartite meeting will take place. at 12 noon at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.
From that meeting, a second part of the negotiating process will start, with new bilateral meetings to finish the process before January 13.
