The Russian station will be fully assembled in orbit in 2035, the base module has already been shown

The state corporation “Roscosmos” has presented a scientific and energy module, which will become the basis for the Russian orbital station. According to the RBC edition, it was originally designed and created for the ISS, but ultimately Russia’s plans for it changed. The development of the scientific and energy module began in 2012, the Rocket and Space Corporation Energia took over the work. The project cost was estimated at 15.15 billion rubles, and the construction was planned to be completed by 2015.

According to the director of Roskosmos for promising programs and science, Alexander Bloshenko, the Russian national station will be created in two stages. At the first stage (from 2025 to 2030), the launch of the scientific and energy module will take place, and at the second (from 2030 to 2035), other modules that will be built during this period of time. The station itself does not imply the constant presence of astronauts. Crews of two to four people will be launched to it 1-2 times a year as part of manned missions, as well as up to three cargo ships.

The basic module, which will serve as a scientific and energy module, will be made more autonomous in terms of orientation in space, energy and life support systems. To do this, the finished module will have to be slightly redone.

In addition to it, it is planned to create three more modules: a junction, a sluice and a similar scientific and energy one. In the future, they will add target and production modules, as well as a platform for servicing spacecraft. The main scientific equipment will be located outside the station, astronauts will interact with it using robots.
