A jury in Pennsylvania Federal Court took just five hours to find him guilty. Now, they will reconvene to decide whether he should be given the death penalty or a life sentence.

THE Bowers was on trial for a total of 63 charges.

In the pre-trial phase, Bowers’ lawyers asked that their client be allowed to plead guilty to avoid the death penalty. The Ministry of Justice, however, refused this agreement as relayed by the Athens News Agency.

Earlier, he had posted racist, anti-Semitic and xenophobic messages on a far-right website. Bowers’ attorneys argue that imposing the death penalty on their client would be unconstitutional because he suffers from serious psychiatric problems, such as schizophrenia. In order for him to be sentenced to death, there would have to be a unanimous decision by the jury. Otherwise, he will be sentenced to life imprisonment.
