The meeting of the KYSEA is in progress – On the front line is the guarding of the borders in Evros

The meeting of the Governmental National Security Council under the Prime Minister, K. Mitsotakis, with the main topic of guarding the borders at Evros, is currently underway at Megaro Maximos.

According to information, during the meeting there will be an assessment of the situation so far both from the side of the Ministry of National Defense and from the side of the Greek police.

At the same time, it is expected that there will be operational analyzes related to the further strengthening of guarding measures, as well as information on prevention projects along the entire length of the Evros.

The government speaks of a hybrid attack on our country, with Mr. Economou referring, from the journalists’ briefing room, to the new attempt to use immigration as a tool by the Turkish authorities.

“It is extremely revealing that in the last few days 60 smugglers have been arrested and brought to the Greek courts. Greece, according to its constant tactics, handles the issue based on human rights, international conventions and the protection of our sovereign rights. Greece respects people, but it is not politically naive,” noted the government representative, who accused SYRIZA of taking public and official positions that do not correspond to reality and that cause damage to Greece.

“The opposition spirit of SYRIZA is such that, in order to hurt the Government, it does not hesitate to hurt our Homeland. This is an attitude, which is politically absurd”, he underlined.
