The head of European diplomacy Joseph Borel called emergency talks with his prime minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti and its president Serbia Aleksandar Vucic for next week, in order to resolve the crisis, announced a representative.
“Invite both leaders for a meeting in Brussels next week”said Peter Stano, explaining that more details about these talks will be announced later.
From Washington, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said Kosovo and Serbia should take immediate steps to de-escalate tensions. Among them is the unconditional release of three Kosovar police officers held in Serbia.
THE police arrest, last night, further intensifies the tension in the region, sparking fears of a new outbreak of violence between Belgrade and Pristina.
