The band The Killers broke two records of Guinness World Records — an annual book that records the achievement of records — with the song “Mr. Brightside”, from the album “Hot Fuss” (2004). The song, however, was released in September 2003 as a single.
With the track, in 2024, they conquered the longest stay in the UK singles charts by a group — in total, there were 416 weeks on the chart. In addition, they had the highest number of cumulative weeks in the UK singles chart with one song.
In an interview with Guinness World Records the band says they will never get tired of playing “Mr. Brightside.” “That song still gets us. I know some people don’t get it, but just watch the reaction [quando você a vê ao vivo]”, said the vocalist Brandon Flowers .
“It’s hard not to get emotional or excited about her, and tonight there will be people who have never seen her live and people who have seen her 45 times,” he added. “And we just can’t get enough of her.”
