“The First Prophecy” actress says her father almost passed out while watching horror

Horror movie star “The First Prophecy” — which arrived in Brazilian cinemas this Thursday (4) — the actress Nell Tiger Free said that her parents didn't like watching the film, in which she plays a young nun.

“My mother doesn’t like horror films. She's very, very touchy, so she had to sit next to me at the premiere. And I swear to God, I think I have nail marks on me. She was holding me so tight the whole time,” Free said in an interview with People.

The 24-year-old actress also said that her father faints when nervous, and that he fainted at the time of her birth. When asked about her reaction to watching the film, Free said he “almost” fainted again.

“She [minha mãe] I can’t bear to see anything bad happen to me,” Free explained. “And a lot of bad things happened to me on screen. I was shot in the head, burned alive, a lot of things. Especially in the final scenes, she was really having a hard time with it.”

The actress confessed that horror is her favorite film genre, but she has difficulty finding friends who are willing to watch films with her.

“I'm always trying to get my roommates to watch horror movies with me, and they're not horror fans. They actually came to the premiere and said, 'We're doing this out of love for you.' But they really liked it, which is good news,” Free added.

1976 horror prequel

The film “The First Prophecy” is a prequel that sheds light on the origins of one of the characters from the horror classic “The prophecy” released in 1976.

The film stars Nell Tiger Free , Bill Nighy, Ralph Ineson and has the Brazilian Sonia Braga .

“The prophecy” shows the trajectory of the family of an American diplomat who decides to adopt a newborn of unknown origin after hiding from his wife that their child was stillborn.

The new film tells the origin of baby Damien by telling the story of Margaret Daino, a young American sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church.

There, she encounters darkness that makes her question her own faith, as well as revealing a terrifying conspiracy that aims to give birth to evil incarnate.
