Amazon never stops. After opening Amazon Fresh, its first grocery store in London, here comes the first hairdressing salon ever in the English capital.
Amazon Salon is a new salon concept where customers can experience the best in hair care and styling. Arranged on two floors and more than 140 square meters on Brushfield Street in Spitalfields, a stone’s throw from the central Amazon hub, the show will provide the latest technologies in the sector, from augmented reality hair consultancy to point-and-learn technology.
Hair care and styling services at Amazon Salon will be provided by Elena Lavagni, owner of Neville Hair & Beauty, an independent salon based in Belgravia for more than 20 years. Elena and her team have provided hair services for Paris Fashion Week and the Cannes Film Festival, and are renowned for cutting-edge hair and beauty treatments.
“We have designed this salon to allow customers to come and experience some of the best technology, hair care products and stylists in the industry,” said John Boumphrey, UK Country Manager, Amazon. “We want this unique location to bring us one step closer to customers and it will be a place where we can collaborate with the industry and test new technologies.”
This will be an experiential venue, and there are currently no plans to open more Amazon Salon locations.
At Amazon Salon, customers will be able to experiment with different virtual hair colors using the augmented reality technology, enjoy entertainment on Fire tablets at each styling station and capture their new look in a dedicated creative area. It will also offer a full range of hairdressing services for adults and children, including cutting and styling, highlights, balayage, texturizing treatments and braiding.
The show will also test the new technology point-and-learn, where customers can simply point to the product they are interested in on a display shelf and relevant information, including videos and educational content, will appear on a display screen. To order products, Customers can scan the QR code on the shelf to visit the product detail page on Amazon.co.uk and buy, with delivery directly to their home.
Open seven days a week, the service will initially be aimed at employees only, but in the coming weeks it will also be open to the public, upon reservation. There is no pricing news yet, but they will always be great.
