The French fashion house Saint Laurent announced today the creation of a motion picture production company, Saint Laurent Productions, which will make its debut at the Cannes Film Festival, in the official competition section, with Pedro Almodovar’s Strange Way of Life.
“I want to work with all the great film talents that have inspired me over the years and offer them a space”Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello said in a statement.
The haute couture house, which belongs to the Kering group, says it is the first to include film production in its operations.
Saint Laurent Productions will participate in the official competition program of the 76th Cannes Film Festival, which will be held from May 16 to 27, with “Strange Way of life” of Pedro Almodovarwith Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal, is clarified in the announcement that confirms the information that was published on the special website Women’s Wear Daily (WWD).
David Cronenberg and Paolo Sorrentino are among the filmmakers included in other Saint Laurent Productions projects.
