The ending of You and Joe’s ambiguous fate

Because Netflix has insisted as much with a series like Youu It was very clear to us from the first moment: The public likes the bad ones, especially when the myths of our adolescence like Penn Badgley interpret them, the Dan di Gossip Girl. The history of the stalker who aims to have the control of the woman subject to his obsession, was in interesting in itself even if, with the passing of the seasons, Youu has inevitably become caricaturedwith the protagonist Joe Goldberg less and less on fire and more and more at the mercy of script choices to say the least. Hence the – sacrosanct – intention to finally close the series, perhaps trying, once and for all, to give a lesson to Joewho has never in fact paid for all the crimes and crimes he has committed since the beginning of the seasons.

At the end of the fifth season Brontea, finally, to frame Joe who, in response, the averted to kill him in order not to spend the rest of his life in prison for killing Love Quinn, Beck, Benji Ashby and Peach Salinger. After the dissolution of the accusations against characters such as Dr. Nicky, Nadia and Henry, unjustly considered guilty of the murders perpetuated by Joe, The protagonist of Youu he is finally forced to look his demons in the faceeven if the screenwriters tried to make the spectators feel in some way for supporting the series for so long. In prison, devoured by his own solitude, Joe receives, in fact, hundreds of love letters from strangers who lead the boy to wonder if the problem is or we are, pointing the finger at a society that often Romanticizes the serial killers transforming them into celebrity – see the case of Luigi Mangione. The mechanism of fascination towards evil often leads to unexpected consequences, and this is why we particularly appreciated the latter twist that takes shape in a doubt: Are we accomplices that negative figures like that of Joe can become fascinating?
