The Cure prepares new album song in 16 years

THE The Cure announced the release of “Alone.” The track will be part of the new album “Songs of a Lost World,” scheduled for release on September 26. It is the group’s first work since 2008’s “4:13 Dream.”

The first performance of the track will take place on BBC Radio 6, hosted by Mary Anne Hobbs, the band announced on Instagram. The group also shared a teaser of the song.

Earlier this month, the band raised eyebrows when they changed their logo on their Facebook profile picture and revealed a redesign on their official website. With the change, fans began to speculate that the group may be preparing a new album.

In December 2023, the band headlined the first edition of the Spanish festival Primavera Sound in São Paulo. The band performed a two-and-a-half-hour set.

Also this month, the keyboardist Roger O’Donnell stated that he was diagnosed last year with lymphatic cancer and has been undergoing treatment for 11 months.
