The British band The Cure announced the release of the song “Alone” this Monday (23). The track will be part of the unreleased album “Songs of a Lost World”, scheduled for September 26. This will be the group’s first work since “4:13 Dream”, from 2008.
The track will be performed for the first time on BBC Radio 6, hosted by Mary Anne Hobbs, the band announced on Instagram. The group also shared a teaser of the song (listen below).
Earlier this month, the band raised expectations about new releases by changing the group’s official Facebook profile picture and giving their official website a makeover.
With the changes, fans began to speculate that the group could be preparing a new album.
In December 2023, the band headlined the first edition of the Spanish festival Primavera Sound in São Paulo. On that occasion, the group performed a two-and-a-half-hour set.
Also this month, the keyboardist Roger O’Donnell stated that he was diagnosed last year with lymphatic cancer and has been undergoing treatment for 11 months.
