Her government Britain will make 3,000 Eurovision tickets available to displaced Ukrainians after their country was unable to host it due to Russia’s invasion.
The British government has also announced that it will provide £10 million in funding to support the event Eurovision in May, which Britain undertook on behalf of Ukraine.
This year’s competition will be hosted in Liverpool, northern England. Ukraine won the competition in 2022 and would normally have been the country to host it the following year. Britain took second place last year.
“Today’s announcement means thousands of tickets will be made available to those displaced by war so they can take part in an event that honors their homeland, their culture and their music.”said British Culture Secretary Lucy Fraser. “As always, we stand with the Ukrainian people and their struggle for freedom.”
