This Tuesday (20), it was announced that The Beatles will win 4 films, one for each member of the band. With premiere forecast for 2027 renowned director Sam Mendes of “1917” and “American Beauty” will be responsible for production alongside Sony Pictures Entertainment and Apple Corps Ltd.
The initial information was given by Deadline and the official Beatles page confirmed the information. This will be the first time that the stories of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr and the group's musical rights have been authorized for film.
There is still no information about the cast, but according to the portals, the films would intertwine, to narrate the band's story, showing each one's point of view.
I still agree with the Beatles website, Mendes will direct all four films and produce alongside Neal Street Productions partner Pippa Harris and Neal Street's Julie Pastor. Jeff Jones will executive produce for Apple Corps Ltd.
“I’m honored to tell the story of the greatest rock band of all time and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies,” said the director.
“We intend for this to be an epic and emotional cinematic experience: four films, told from four different perspectives, that tell a single story about the most famous band of all time”, commented Pippa Harris, in turn.
