Tether, an issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has authorized 2 billion coins on the Tron network.
On April 21, 2025, Whale Alert reported that the company replenished reserves for 1 billion USDT. A day later, the company produced another 1 billion stablcoins. Thus, in two days, Tether reserves have increased by 2 billion USDT.
Tether General Director Paolo Ardoino said to X (previously Twitter) that the volume of stablecoins based on Tron and Ethereum has been authorized, but has not yet been released. According to him, these funds are intended for future emissions or swaps between blockchains.
