These are the addresses:
- 0xa6bccfd21c5b23965c5f31d70fcef17b83b9c04a — $7.63 million (more than $9 million at the time of writing);
- 0xe2102860361ced07ab9d75dbe815962b72165e82 — $10.17 million;
- 0x186e6139cd55902faa3d70b4cd866e7237d2f6ed — $17.48 million ($18.18 million at the time of writing)
- 0x5ced8dc729662eab1f923b3c43bfe6bb2dcd2ae6 — $3.4 million.
Most of these wallets have been active relatively recently. They have a short transaction history; some funds were transferred in one tranche.
The reason for blocking addresses is not specified. It should be noted that Tether regularly updates the “black list” with wallets that are suspected of being involved in illegal activities, including money laundering.
Prior to this, on December 11, the company froze 161 addresses as part of compliance with new security rules. These accounts are associated with persons who are sanctioned by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
