The Nasdaq index hovered around record highs on Monday, boosted by gains in Tesla and Meta Platforms shares, though investors avoided big bets before the Federal Reserve’s potential move to begin scaling back pandemic-era support for the larger economy of the world.
At 1:41 pm EDT, the Dow Jones Index was up 0.23% to 35,902 points, while the S&P 500 gained 0.084466% to 4,609 points.
The Nasdaq technology index advanced 0.47% to 15,571 points, after spiking 15,571,427 points.
Earlier, S&P 500 and Dow Jones had already reached new peaks.
Tesla Inc shares were up 4.6%, also at a record high, after the company hit $1 trillion in market capitalization last week.
Meta Platforms, formerly known as Facebook Inc, totaled 2.6%, providing the biggest boost for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq.
