For weeks in Venice we have been wondering what was behind the orange panels of Campo Santo Stefano, and now that the project has been unveiled, the historic building they covered has become one of the coolest haunts in the city: the Aperol Terrace, the new venue of the historic Campari Group Aperol brand.
An expected opening in the heart of the city, which tells of the desire for rebirth and to find themselves together at the same table to drink well also because l’Aperol Spritz – which turned 100 in 2019, and remains among the most famous to prepare with Aperol – is a symbol of Venice and the best aperitifs in the world.
In the new Terrazza Aperol the aperitif will be the first unmissable moment, to be enjoyed with a high-level food proposal created specifically by Alessandro Negrini and Fabio Pisani, starred chefs of “The Place of Aimo and Nadia”, who have created a menu based on the Venetian tradition, with excellent Italian raw materials and modulated on seasonality.
All this in a club of great atmosphere, where orange could only dominate, che is inspired by but revisits bankers with a cosmopolitan mood. All thanks to different settings between interiors and exteriors and great attention to detail, even in the furnishings and accessories, trying to use recycled materials so as not to impact the environment. The parquet, for example, is made with “briccole”, recovered navigation poles of the lagoon, while on the walls there are decorations with glass tiles inserted by hand in Venetian stucco, and then there are Murano glass chandeliers that stand out on decorated ceilings. A hyper-contemporary project signed by the studio Vudafieri Saverino Partner which tells about Venice, conviviality, the spirit of Aperol Spritz.
At the Aperol Terrace there will also be the first Aperol merchandising line entirely “Made in Veneto” and its opening is also accompanied by a series of initiatives designed to tell and recover the traditions of Venice. For example the project «Open Day Squeri» thanks to which in July free guided tours were organized and open to all to two of the most important and ancient city squeri, historical workshops where shipwrights build gondolas and other rowing boats in the lagoon, or collaboration with the conservatory Benedetto Marcello. Furthermore, Terrazza Aperol has contributed to the restoration of two historic boats: a Caorlina and a Batèlo da Nasse. In the gallery above some photos.
