Teachers remember what Taylor Swift was like at school: “I always wrote poetry”

Teachers who taught Taylor Swift when she was a child told, in an interview with CBS, what the American singer was like in high school.

The Philadelphia state affiliate of the United States broadcaster spoke with Heather Brown and Barbara Kolvekwho were Taylor's teachers when she was studying a series equivalent to the 4th and 5th year of elementary school in Brazil, respectively.

The first taught at Wyndcroft School, in the city of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and says that Taylor Swift was already cultivating the habit of writing poetry at that time. On Friday (19), she released a new double album, with 31 tracks.

“She was always writing poetry, always. Even in music class, even when she shouldn’t have,” said Kolvek in the interview that was published on Saturday (20). “I feel like I gave her a little push or encouragement to do what she’s doing.”

The teacher still keeps Taylor's yearbooks, a shirt signed by the singer and a stuffed snowman given to her.

Brown, who confessed that he still sends Christmas cards and messages to his former student even though she no longer responds, said that Taylor already stood out at school for her authenticity and her ability to make people like her.

“Each student has a special quality. And you always remember each student for the quality they have. Taylor's quality was just being herself, one of those students that people just approached,” said the teacher.
