Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” is officially the highest-grossing music tour of all time, becoming the first to surpass $1 billion in revenue in history, Guinness World Records reported on Tuesday. (12).
The tour, which began in March 2023 and is scheduled to end in December 2024, after 151 shows, has already raised US$1.04 billion (around R$5.16 billion) to date, according to data calculated by Pollstar and used by the record book.
The amount breaks the record set by Elton John’s five-year farewell tour, which ended earlier this year, grossing US$939 million (about R$4.56 billion) in 328 shows.
The calculation projected an average of approximately 72 thousand people attending each show and tickets costing an average of US$238 (around R$1,180). Thus, “The Eras Tour” must be grossing more than US$17 million per show.
According to data from Pollstar, 4.3 million tickets have been sold to date. Projecting this data, the tour could gross more than $2 billion if all remaining scheduled shows were performed.
In addition, Taylor Swift’s licensed products have also become a lucrative source of revenue during shows, with estimates of them being worth around R$200 million (around R$992) to date.
