Taylor Swift changed the lyrics to Karma for love of Travis Kelce

Apparently, last night Travis Kelce he didn’t go to bed as early as he should have. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was slammed by commentators last week for using part of his team’s bye week to visit his alleged girlfriend Taylor Swift in Argentina, where the billionaire singer recently began the final leg of her (seemingly interminable) Eras Tour. Although sports pundits hoped Kelce would be in bed by 8pm during the break week, the player stayed up wide on Saturday night as well as attending Swift’s performance at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires (and getting hugged in front of everyone at the end of the concert).

It was Swift’s second concert after a months-long hiatus from her tour, during which she attended several Chiefs games (benefiting Kelce’s stats). Now that she’s back on the road for a month-long work stint in Latin America, Swift is less likely to attend Kelce’s November games. Perhaps that’s why Kelce flew to Buenos Aires on Friday, where the alleged couple had dinner with her father, Scott Swift (of all restaurants, right at a steakhouse inside the Four Seasons hotel).

The dinner was possible because bad weather blocked Swift’s concert on Friday, but she returned to the stage on Saturday. And this time Kelce had to settle for watching from the stands. Or rather, from a “VIP tent”, as you say USA Todaywhere social media users captured him joking with the audience, holding a sign and bopping along to the beat while consuming snacks from an unspecified bag to the tune of Swift’s pop.

As reported by multiple sources, Swift made sure to greet Kelce from the stage. While she sang Willow«he sang right in front of Kelce, emphatically pronouncing the words That’s my man», writes the Daily Mail. Then, when she sang Karmachanged a line in the song to allude to Kelce, substituting Karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me with Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me. In response, Swift’s father gave Kelce a friendly shove, while Kelce put his hands in his face like Macaulay Culkin in Mom I missed the plane (this interaction was also picked up by fans).

While the text change drew cheers from the audience, the real romantic comedy reaction was saved for the end of the concert. By then, Kelce had made his way to the side of the stage, and as she wrapped up her final song, Swift ran past a row of portable toilets to hug Kelce, who she then exchanged.to a long kiss amidst roars of clear approval from the audience.

It’s unclear when Swift and Kelce will be able to indulge in a public display of affection like the one on Saturday again. Kelce will be back at work, so she’ll likely return to Kansas City soon to start training again. On the other hand, Swift has a very busy tour schedule until November 26th, after which she will take a break until February 7th.

If all goes well for the Chiefs this season, things could get tough, but not impossible: While Swift would be free to cheer on Kelce (and reportedly improve her performance) from December to January, the Super Bowl is set for February 11, 2024. Swift has a concert in Japan on Feb. 10, so bookies around the world are betting on a red-eye flight from Tokyo to Las Vegas, where the match (which will see Usher perform during the Halftime Show) will begin a few hours after Swift leaves the Tokyo Dome stage.
