More than 250 billionaires and millionaires they ask, in a letter to the political leaders who will meet in Davos for the World Economic Forum, to tax them more. “Our request is simple: We ask you to tax us,” they write in the open letter titled “Proud to Pay” (proud to pay), to world leaders, as reported by the Guardian.
Among those signing the letter is the 'Disney' heiress Abigail Disneythe well-known actor Brian Coxwho has embodied the billionaire Logan Roy in the series “Succession”, the Valerie Rockefellerheir to the Rockefeller Foundation, as well as the actor and screenwriter Simon Pegg.
As they explain, this measure “will not change our standard of living, will not deprive our children of anything, nor will it harm the economic development of our countries. But it will turn extreme and unproductive private wealth into an investment for the future of all of us.”
“We are also the people who benefit the most from the status quo, but inequality has reached a tipping point and its cost to the risk of economic, social and ecological stability is increasing every day,” they add.

Yes, news poll shows that 74% of the super-rich support the imposition of higher taxes on the rich to help tackle rising living costs and improve public services.
The poll found that 58% supported imposing a 2% wealth tax on those with wealth over $10 million and that 54% believed that the extreme wealth is a threat to democracy.
