SYRIZA, after the internal party elections in May, is indeed “another party”, as Alexis Tsipras likes to emphasize often.
Unity
It has shown remarkable unity and resistance to internal toxicity. The endless intra-party dramas, the “studs” between comrades, the constant exchange of messages from the camps through the press and “correspondence” came to an end, plaster of resistance was put in the deep wounds and a joint in the cracks.
They have time to feed the news with storms and fights inside them, while the “choreography” between leading executives, who are however in a known rift with each other, when the party is called to serve a certain “line”, is perfectly synchronized.
Information about changes in SYRIZA’s parliamentary representatives was also denied, apparently due to pre-election preparations, with “Umbrella” being at the forefront of the parliamentary battle.
Idyllic, therefore, the landscape for the internal parties of SYRIZA? It’s just not like that.
Cravings
The… usual suspects who caused disharmony and parasites in the “line” of Alexis Tsipras have gathered (eg P. Polakis), but Koumoundourou is tested by scattered “longings”, unaffiliated intra-party “shooters”, pure nonsense.
The secretary of the Parliamentary Group of SYRIZA, Olga Gerovasili, reportedly, last week was not easy at all, and not only because of being sick with coronavirus. From afar, at the behest of Tsipras, he contacted Christoforos Bernardakis repeatedly. The MP in question had the brilliant inspiration to make a “gift” to ND. and the Minister of Education, calling Niki Kerameos the “Pispirigou of Education” in an outrageously childish (provocative of hilarity and lightness) video she posted on… tik tok. This platform which communicatively “scans” ages 10-26.
The shameful video in question was withdrawn by the former close associate of Alexis Tsipras, he asked for repeated “apologies”, he was spared the spectacular deletion, but the damage was done and it was multiple:
1. Mr. Tsipras was forced to appear in Parliament apologizing while speaking on the Education Ministry’s bill, at a time when the party was being anointed for a “harsh counterattack” and a clash at the top – and indeed one day after Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who opened fire against SYRIZA for toxicity but also personally against his president.
2. He turned the spotlight back on SYRIZA, for reasons that the party does not want to remember: “light-popular” repertoire, frivolous, with toxic content and certainly not attractive to the centrist public that is trying to attract the official opposition party, convincing that it is popular but not a populist alternative power force.
Meanwhile, Chr. Bernardakis has indeed been a close associate of Alexis Tsipras. This is the same person who, as then responsible for SYRIZA polls and informing the president and the party about the “electoral climate”, had convinced Koumoundourou before the 2019 European elections that the “game is turning”, as the party is a… breath behind the N.D. and possibly marginally ahead.
The background from the day of the 2019 European elections, when he angrily denied to journalists the waves of exit polls that early and clearly showed the sweeping defeat of SYRIZA, insisting that it is… fake news from Piraeus that will be refuted as soon as it comes out, is true of memory. the result.
If anyone was denied that night, it is the expectations of Mr. Tsipras and his collaborators, who were carried away, with the familiar debacle that followed and led the president of SYRIZA to gradually call for elections.
Since then, however, the member in question is probably not trusted even to deliver a letter to the post office.
Centre
Despite all this, however, SYRIZA may not be able to close the poll gap with ND. (and the qualitative data, which Koumoundourou studies so much, remain disappointing for the official opposition party in relation to the prime minister and the government faction), but it shows – at least according to polls – that it is winning the “battle” of the Center, in relation to the PASOK of Nikos Androulakis.
In a recent poll (Pulse), the president of PASOK emerged third in influence in the centrist space, after the first, K. Mitsotakis, and the second, Alexis Tsipras.
By the way, the president of SYRIZA does not intend to leave Harilaou Trikoupis in the dark.
From Peristeri, emphatically addressing N. Androulakis, he asked him “with whom will he form the social democratic government? With Mr. Georgiadis, M. Voridis, Th. Pleuris?”, even attacking the president of PASOK for trying to “glorify himself by hiding “, while he did not spare himself irony even in the Parliament: He seized the opportunity after the placement of Ag. Syrigou about the “myth of the Polytechnic”, which caused reactions, to repeat the same question.
