Suspects of murder, kidnapping and theft are arrested in operation in Bahia

Thirteen people suspected of involvement in crimes such as extortion through kidnapping, estelionate, theft and murder They were arrested on the morning of Tuesday (15), during Operation Heredites.

The action was coordinated by teams from the Specialized Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic) of the Bahia Civil Police. The steps were carried out in the capital Salvador, the Metropolitan Region (RMS) and in the interior of the state.

In addition to the arrest warrants issued by the Bahia Court of Justice (TJBA), the agents also complied with nine court orders for search and seizure. During the operation, portions of drugs were found with some of the suspects.

According to police, four gang members are pointed out by direct participation in kidnappings with extortion. In Salvador, the group operated in the neighborhoods of Northeast Amaralina, Águas Claras, Valéria, Fazenda Grande do Retiro, Boca do Rio, Trobogy and Sussuarana. At RMS, there are records of criminal actions in Lauro de Freitas and Camaçari. Inland, the cities of Feira de Santana, Juazeiro, Ichu and Vitória da Conquista also have identified victims.

The operation mobilized about 200 civil police officers, including delegates, clerks and agents, as well as teams from the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration and Resocialization.

“We are firm in the integration of the Civil Police, forming a cohesive team, acting with police intelligence and strategy, aiming at our biggest goal, which is to reduce the rates of violence to the fullest and promote peace in communities,” said Deputy General André Viana.
