Chrystian, a former country duo with Ralf, had his kidney transplant postponed after pre-operative tests. Previously, the procedure would be carried out on March 11th, however, the date had to be changed to the end of the year due to catheterization, which requires medication over the course of a semester.
The information was confirmed by the duo's advisor to CNN. Chrystian had already published the note on his official Instagram profile, explaining that the surgery will be rescheduled soon. The countryman has a polycystic kidney and will receive a new organ from his wife, Key Vieira, through laparoscopy.
According to the statement, “during the pre-operative examinations, which took place in the same hospital [Hospital do Rim], the patient had to be catheterized. This procedure requires the use of blood-thinning medication for six months, and surgery is not permitted during this treatment.”
Also according to the note, while awaiting the transplant, Chrystian will carry out his concert schedule normally. “The singer is doing well, without any other problems, and will fulfill his concert schedule until the surgery date that will be scheduled soon.”, he concluded.
This Wednesday morning (28), the countryman's wife, Key Vieira, opened a question box on her social networks to answer internet users' questions about the surgery.
Asked about her expectations for the transplant, she replied: “Our hearts are warm and grateful that we discovered it in time and everything is going very well, thank God.” The singer agreed and concluded by sending a message to the public. “You guys, don’t neglect your health.”, he said.
