This Sunday (11), Super Bowl LVIII takes place in Las Vegas, which is the main game of the NFL season. Among the attractions, we will have country singer Reba McEntire who will sing the North American National Anthem before the big game.
In an interview with Apple Music, the artist shared that she is preparing for the performance in a very understandable way. “I'm singing the National Anthem in the shower [e] when we got in the car”, she said when mentioning her boyfriend, actor Rex Linn, who is a “big football fan”.
“I think I know the words pretty well now, so I’m good,” Reba added of her preparation process, noting that it helps knowing everyone will be singing with her at Allegiant Stadium.
“If I know they're singing along, and they're remembering and having fun too, that's easier for me, but just to be prepared when you go out there,” he added during the interview.
“I get to sing a very special song for all Americans, people all over the world, who have really worked so hard for our freedom and to give us peace. It's not about me – I'm the representation of this song and I'm so honored to be able to sing it. It's a good song. I’ve been doing this for 50 years and I’m very proud of being able to sing it,” she concludes.
In addition to Reba, Post Malone will sing “America the Beautiful” and Andra Day will sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing” at Super Bowl LVIII, where Usher will headline the halftime show.
