One step before death a man arrived without realizing it, after he fell ill heart attack and ran to half marathonfinished and after a while submitted to open heart surgery.
THE 48-year-old Dick Cheung from Britain, decided to run in sports organizations when his brother, a triathlete, was killed in a car accident in 2018, according to New York Post.
So, in October warmed up for the Great Eastern Run, when he felt sick and collapsed on the ground. Stayed passed out for 20 seconds and when he woke up, he decided to run, finishing a 13.1-mile course in 35 minutes and 26 seconds.
After the race, the half marathon doctors examined him and found that he had an abnormal heart rhythm. They urged him to go to the nearest hospital and there doctors found that he had suffered a heart attack earlier.
“The only reason I'm alive is because I was running“, he said and added that underwent triple bypass, because he had clogged arteries. However, after a while he contracted coronavirus and had open heart surgery.
Now, he has recovered and is trying to get back in shape so he can continue running in memory of his dead brother.
