Sudanese army sends negotiators to Saudi Arabia after three weeks of fighting

THE Sudanese military announced this evening that it had sent negotiators to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to “discuss the details of the truce under renewal“, while the cease-fire, to which the military and paramilitary forces who have been at war for three weeks committed themselves, has not stopped being violated.

The Saudis and the Americans have been mediating since hostilities began on April 15, which have killed hundreds of people. The UN envoy to Sudan recently said the two warring sides had agreed to conduct “technical discussions» for a truce to be observed.

General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo’s Rapid Support Force (RSF) has not yet announced its position on these negotiations in Saudi Arabia, according to the Athens News Agency.
