MediaTek announced today that the new Dimensity SoCs will be officially unveiled on January 20.
The source claims that MediaTek is preparing to unveil the new MT689x platform, which will be based on a 6nm manufacturing process. It is also expected that this platform will form the basis of the Redmi K40 smartphone, which will go on sale in February this year.
Earlier it was reported that the MediaTek MT6893 single-chip system will receive four Cortex A78 and four Cortex A55 cores, as well as a Mali-G77 MC9 graphics processor. An unknown smartphone based on this single-chip system scored 620,000 points in the popular AnTuTu benchmark, beating smartphones based on Snapdragon 865 and Samsung Exynos 1080.
Currently, MediaTek’s flagship single-chip system is SoC Dimensity 1000+.
