“Companies offering cryptocurrency and blockchain applications often face the problem of “cold start” – their users usually do not hold crypto assets in their wallets. The Stripe platform allows customers to buy cryptocurrencies exactly when they need them. For example, you can buy ETH and immediately use it to buy NFTs,” reads the official message on the platform’s website.
Stripe offers two ways to install a payment gateway.
The first way: a widget for websites of companies that want to add the purchase of cryptocurrencies. The widget requires some changes in the site and/or application code.
The second way: a completely separate platform for the purchase of digital assets, which makes it easier and faster to start the application.
Guillaume Poncin, Head of Cryptocurrency Development at Stripe, assured that thanks to the platform, many companies will be able to outsource a lot of important, but rather complex tasks to Stripe. For example, identification and identity verification, authentication, commission and conversion optimization, fraud prevention.
Recall that Stripe launched support for cryptocurrencies a few years ago, but then suspended its platform. However, last year the company announced a partnership with the FTX cryptocurrency exchange.
