Stanley Druckenmiller regrets not owning bitcoins

Billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller said that he currently does not store bitcoins, but regrets it and calls this decision a mistake.

Stanley Druckenmiller has repeatedly spoken out in favor of Bitcoin, calling it a new asset class. In 2020, he said that he owned a certain amount of the first cryptocurrency, but it seems that Druckenmiller sold his holdings and now regrets it.

“To be honest, I don’t own Bitcoin, but I should,” the 70-year-old former hedge fund manager told an investor conference in New York.

Druckenmiller noted that Bitcoin is extremely popular among the younger generation and, given the age of the first cryptocurrency, it can be called a “brand”, like gold. Although he likes the new asset class, Druckenmiller still prefers precious metals.

“I’m 70 years old and I invest in gold. I was surprised at the pace of development and it is clear that young people now consider Bitcoin as a means of saving and savings. It’s much easier to do something with bitcoins, sell or buy, and for me it’s already a brand. But I still prefer gold, because this brand is already 5,000 years old,” said the billionaire.

Previously, Druckenmiller said that the traditional economy is getting closer to collapse and it is cryptocurrencies that will benefit from the systemic crisis in the global economy.
