This is what promises the new feature announced by Spotify this Wednesday (22). Called “DJ”, the tool developed with OpenAI technology – the same creator of ChatGPT – will recommend songs and artists according to the taste of each user.
Using personalization technology, the “DJ” will also curate according to each one’s preferences to recommend music releases that may be of interest and create entire playlists with the user’s preferred musical genre.
In addition, the feature also recommends songs that the user has not listened to in a long time, bringing a sense of nostalgia.
Realistic voice made with AI
In addition to learning your musical preferences, the feature also features a “realistic voice” that presents facts about the songs, genres and artists that each user listens to or follows. According to Spotify, the tool offers a radio-like experience.
The artificial intelligence model that gives voice to the “DJ” was developed by Sonantic, a startup acquired in 2022 by the Swedish company, which has a technology that turns texts into speech.
The DJ is a personalized AI guide that knows you and your taste in music so well that it can choose what to play for you.

Still in beta, the new feature is currently only available to Spotify Premium subscribers in the US and Canada.
