Celebrating the 25 years from the classic cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants from Nickelodeon, the Brawl Stars considered one of the most popular mobile games of the moment, has added new characters inspired by the adventure set directly at the bottom of the sea.
Developed by the company Supercell, the partnership features well-known names such as the muscular El Primo Bob Esponja, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Squidward and Sandy.
The competitions take place on the special map of “Bikini Bottom” also featuring some temporary and special reinforcements, such as the crab burger, the clarinet and the seaweed soda, which will give the characters extra strength, making the Brawlers cause more damage.
And it doesn’t end there, themed modes bring new ways to play, like “Jellyfish Catching”, where players compete to see who can catch the most jellyfish.
To star in the launch commercial, the company invited actor and wrestler John Cena, known for his exploits in the wrestling ring. Watch below.
“I’ve been a longtime fan of Supercell games and have been watching SpongeBob for years, so the nostalgia factor definitely appealed to me about this partnership. It’s crazy to see SpongeBob in Braw Stars and I’m loving it,” he said in a press release.
