Spain: Police’s “hit” on an exotic animal smuggling network – one of them sold 60,000 euros

Wild boars, lynxes, leopards … Spanish police announced today that 19 feline was seized and two people were arrested as part of an operation to dismantle an exotic animal smuggling network, including protected species, such as white tigers. The couple used social networking sites where ads for lumps, hyenas or puma were appearing. A cloudy leopard, one of the rarest feline, with spots reminiscent of clouds, was costly at 60,000 euros. According to police, the couple were arrested in Mallorca, Balearic. They had reared animals, such as desert lynxes or karakal, African wild boars and hybrid species that had intersected exotic animals with household cats.
