It was published this Monday (31) in the Official Gazette of the City of São Paulo the decree of Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB) establishing the creation of the Mama Tarifa Zero program in the public transport system.
The program was Ricardo Nunes’s campaign promise during the 2024 election.
The decree defines that the companions of children enrolled in the Centers of Early Childhood Education (CEIS), of the Municipal Education Network, “are exempt from the payment of the fare at the Public Passenger Transport Service in the city of São Paulo, in the course of round trip between the residence and the respective educational institution, through the use of the Special Ticket Tariff Zero”.
The text points out that they are not included in the gratuity any deviations on the way between the student’s house and the educational institution where he is enrolled.

According to the decree, to use public transportation under the conditions of the Mama Tarifa Zero program, the user will have to present a card:

- Are registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs (Cadúnico)
The Special Special Ticket Zero will not be granted and no free travel quotas will be available if the child is a beneficiary of other free public transport programs.
The decree adds that the Special Special Ticket will not be issued Zero Tariff and no free travel quotas will be available if the child is holding a special single ticket card active in the system.
