SP expands 2nd booster vaccination for public aged 35 to 39

Starting this Tuesday (12), the city of São Paulo expands vaccination against Covid-19 to the population aged 35 to 39, who may receive the second additional dose. According to the Municipal Health Department (SMS), the public in this age group is estimated at around 1 million people.

The second additional dose can be given four months after the first additional dose. Until now, only the population over 40 years of age, health professionals over 18 years of age, and adolescents and adults with a high degree of immunosuppression could receive the dose.

According to the prefecture, the city has already applied more than 33.5 million doses of vaccine against Covid-19. The most up-to-date data released shows that 2,380,754 doses were applied as an additional second dose, covering 58.3% of the eligible public. Another 7,540,734 doses were administered as the first booster dose, equivalent to 81.7% vaccination coverage.
