The São Paulo Traffic Department (Detran.SP) has scheduled the renewal of the National Driver’s License (CNH) once again, starting this Tuesday (9). The service has been paralyzed since March 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The schedule with the new dates was published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Wednesday (10).
According to Detran, the deadlines for registration, licensing and transfer of ownership of vehicles were also re-established.
The schedule published by the agency includes driver’s licenses maturing between March 1, 2020 and December 31, 2022.
“The period for drivers to renew their driver’s license or issue a definitive license will be based on the month of expiry of the document. For example, CNHs issued between March and April 2020 must be renewed by December 30, 2021. The complete schedule, to check expiration dates and renewal dates, can be seen here.
“Although deadlines were suspended in March of last year, Detran made available throughout the pandemic period the renewal of CNHs through the online platform,” said Neto Mascellani, CEO of Detran.SP.
Vehicle registration and transfer
The deadlines for registration and transfer of vehicles were also resumed. According to information released by Detran SP this Wednesday (10), the new vehicle purchased between February 26, 2021 and November 16, 2021 must be registered and licensed by December 31, 2021.
