SP 2024 exhibition will have “The Brutalist”, winner of Best Direction in Venice

THE 48th edition of the São Paulo International Film Festival will feature the display of “The Brutalist “, a film that won the Best Direction at the Venice Film Festival this year. The information was confirmed by the event organizers to CNN .

Under the direction of Brady Corbet (from “Vox Lux”), the epic tells the story of visionary architect László Toth (Adrien Brody from “The Pianist”) and his wife Erzsébet (Felicity Jones from “The Theory of Everything”), who, in 1947, escape war-torn Europe to start over and help shape modern America. However, the arrival of an enigmatic client radically changes the course of their lives.

With more than three hours long the film was acquired by the renowned A24 a prominent distributor at the moment and responsible for hits such as “Everything Everywhere at the Same Time “, “Aftersun ” and “Lady Bird: Time to Fly “. Currently, “The Brutalist” is one of the favorites for the 2025 Oscar for Best Film.
