In I’m Lillo 2 Posaman and his creator have to deal with the multiverse. If the first season told of a man in a personal and professional crisis, this time the series focuses more on action and a less timid comedy.
«With the first season we started slowly to let the audience enter the world of the characters», says Lillo Petrolo, «with the new episodes (from September 19th on Prime Video, ndr) let’s start off with a bang and we try to raise the bar. The impression is that we succeeded because we had fun shooting. I’m quite self-critical and when I watched the series I forgot that I was one of the protagonists. And this is a good sign”.
Lillo will try to win back Marzia (Sara Lazzaro), who is about to marry the unlikely entrepreneur and “truzzo” Aldo (Corrado Guzzanti). The one trying to make her jealous is the new entry Luna (Katia Follesa), a nerd who works in Sante’s (Marco Marzocca) shop and who «will pretend with Lillo some scenes of wild sex“, says the comedian. Lillo will also have to overcome a professional problem as big as a house, caused by Claudio Locatelli (Peter Sermonti): his agent in fact made him sign a contract to shoot a film sponsored by the Camorra with Posaman as the protagonist. If the film is not made, the two could risk their lives. What to do? Run away or find a solution?
«Claudio is beaten more than ever, and rightly so because it puts Lillo in very serious trouble», explains Sermonti, «beyond the comic element and the idea of the multiverse that shuffles the cards, I I like the human side of these characters, their melancholy and the fact that each one dreams of escaping: from Agenore (Paolo Calabresi), in a perpetual state of malaise, to Lillo, to Claudio himself. It is an aspect that concerns all of us to some extent: each one is inhabited by the desire to experience something else. I’m Lillo it’s a box full of colors and craziness that talks about nothe”.
«We have raised the level of irony and actionbut it always remains an introspective series”, explains the director Eros Puglielli, “we cite the Marvel superheroes to continue telling madmen trying to escape from themselves. They try everything, even changing size.”
The idea of mimicking Marvel superheroes and to create some stargate on parallel worlds is a funny ploy, which transports Lillo in a submarine during the war, in prehistory, where he risks ending badly, and in a place where he is discriminated against for his potato nose. Lillo Petrolo’s love for comics and superheroes is the lifeblood that gave birth to Poseman and the idea of the multiverse.
«Superheroes for me represent the modern epic“, the comedian tells us, “I always liked them even when I read the Aeneid and the Odyssey at school. For me, Achilles and Hector were superheroes who arrived before their masked colleagues.” Then Posaman was born«which however only gives an aesthetic contribution to the action, it does not act, it represents itself, like a painting to be contemplated hanging on a wall».
