Actress Sofia Vergara revealed the reason for her divorce from actor Joe Manganiello in an interview with El País.
“I recently divorced my second husband, who I was with for 10 years. My marriage ended because my husband was younger; he wanted to have children and I didn't want to be an old mother. I feel like it’s not fair to the baby,” said Sofia Vergara.
The marriage between Vergara, aged 51, and Manganiello, aged 47, ended in July last year.
“I respect those who do this, but this is no longer for me. I had a son when I was 19, who is now 32, and I'm ready to be a grandmother, not a mother. So if love comes, it has to come with the [próprios] children. I'm almost menopausal; It’s the natural way of things,” added the actress.
The actress, recognized for her role as Gloria Pritchett on “Modern Family,” stars in the new Netflix miniseries “Griselda.”
Vergara plays the protagonist, Griselda, a powerful Colombian drug trafficker from the 1980s.
