Small plane skids and affects operation at Belém airport

Infraero confirmed that an accident with a small plane on Monday morning (18) affected operations at Belém International Airport, in Pará.

As informed by the agency, the aircraft was on a training flight, but when it landed, it skidded on the main runway. Two crew members were inside the vehicle but were not injured.

Also according to Infraero, the Fire Department acted in the removal of the aircraft with the responsible company. Thus, after the necessary inspections, the runway was cleared for takeoffs and landings at 4:14 pm.

Seven flights were canceled and another six were switched to other airports, all belonging to the companies Latam, Gol and Azul.

One of the flights that was altered was the one that took the Paysandu football team. According to the club’s note, the forecast was that the landing would take place around 11:40 am, but it was necessary to land in Macapá. The latest information is that the team was on its way to Belém after waiting for release.
