Slovakia founded a fund on Wednesday, which will raise more than three million euros in order to compensate citizens who had been fined to violate extraordinary public health protection measures during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Slovak Parliament approved the relevant bill with 78 votes against 66 against, and the initiative is expected to begin on May 1st. About 65,000 fines had been imposed for non -use of protective mask or for violating a ban on traffic, while meals were not covered during quarantine hospitalization. Applications for compensation may be submitted by October 31. The previous government had been managed by the pandemic. Today’s opposition has denounced the “scandalous” bill that rewards “those who were indifferent” to dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.
