The sixth Brazilian Air Force (FAB) plane that rescues Brazilians from Israel landed at Galeão International Airport, in Rio de Janeiro, at 3am this Thursday (19).
This time, 223 Brazilians are being repatriated, including six babies. They add to the 916 people and 24 pets that have already been brought back into the country.
The aircraft took off shortly after 12:30 pm from Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv.
All FAB flights with the aim of repatriation in the Middle East are being accompanied by a team of doctors, psychologists and nurses.
The Brazilian government calculates how many Brazilians would still need help to leave the war zone and, according to the CNN there would be around a thousand people.
Initially, the Brazilian embassy in Israel had received 2,700 people, but some names could be repeated
Brazilian repatriation process
Repatriation follows priority criteria. Those who live in Brazil and do not have a return plane ticket are the first.
In addition, pregnant women, the elderly, women and children are also being prioritized.
Itamaraty recommends that everyone who has airline tickets or who can purchase them board commercial flights from Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, the largest terminal in Israel, to free up seats on FAB aircraft.
Around 14 thousand Brazilians live in Israel, and 6 thousand in Palestine, according to Itamaraty estimates, with the majority outside the conflict area.
