Six out of ten citizens would entrust the issuance of their pension to certified accountants and lawyers of EFKA. This is reflected in the research of the company Pulse presented in the newspaper Action Press and the television station Action24. At the same time, the findings of the research show that for the first time in similar surveys, the positive opinions on the progress in the outstanding pensions and on the general service of the citizen by EFKA are more than the negative ones, which proves the significant progress that has been made. the last 12 months in both of these fields (zeroing of outstanding pensions of old years, operation of 1555, digitization of procedures, new electronic services, etc.).
Analytically, based on the research, 60% of the respondents would choose to use certified professionals for the issuance of their own pension. In fact, 62% of the total sample and 65% of those who have an insurance relationship with EFKA believe that this institution is moving in the right direction.
It is reminded that the institution of certified accountants and lawyers concerns the issuance of new pensions for the former OGA, OAEE and IKA Funds and is the fastest way today for the issuance of a pension by EFKA. More than 1,500 pension cases have already been taken over by the certified, while the first pensions awarded were issued in less than 90 days. The expansion of the categories of pensions that the certified will be able to undertake is expected in the near future.
According to the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kostis Hatzidakis, “the institution of certified public accountants and lawyers has gained the trust of the citizens, despite the fact that it has only recently been implemented. The opposition parties and the trade unionists of EFKA for this institution. 62% trust the institution, while 59% would prefer a certified professional to publish his pension. Personally, I am not impressed by this information. that pensioners are interested in receiving their pension, they do not care who will take it away from them, and why should not a citizen want to use the services of a certified professional, who will take his pension in some cases even in 45 days , hassle free;”.
Positive acceptance of the institution of the certified even by the voters of SYRIZA
It is noteworthy that even among SYRIZA voters the balance of answers on whether the institution of certified accountants and lawyers is in the right direction is also positive as the positive opinions reach 50% while respectively in the voters of the Movement for Change the positive opinions reach 69%. The balance of answers is positive for the voters of New Democracy (July 2019) with a percentage of 77%.
More positive opinions than negative ones for EFKA on the issue of pensions and service
When asked whether the EFKA’s service to the citizen has improved in the last 12 months, the positive opinions are in the majority for the first time. The affirmative answers account for 45% of the total sample while the negative 43%. However, they show a clear progress in relation to previous polls where the negative opinions about EFKA were overwhelmingly higher than the positive ones.
Respectively, the percentage amounts to 46% to those who have an insurance relationship with the e – Ε.Φ.Κ.Α. and outnumber, albeit marginally, the negatives (43% and 44% respectively).
“The fact that 45% of the respondents state that the service at EFKA has been upgraded in the last 12 months is a proof of the efforts we are making for the issuance of pensions but also with 1555”, said Kostis Hatzidakis. “We are not celebrating, but significant progress has been made and much remains to be done to further improve citizens’ satisfaction rates. Let us not forget that EFKA is the most problematic Public Administration Body with 48% of complaints to its Ombudsman Citizen to concern him “.
A similar picture is reflected in the question of whether the measures to accelerate the issuance of outstanding pensions have worked. 44% of citizens answer “Definitely Yes” or “Probably Yes”, while 41% answer “Definitely No” or “Probably No”.
The fact that 44% see an improvement in the field of outstanding pensions in the most problematic Public Organization – which accounted for 48% of all complaints from the wider Public Sector according to the Ombudsman – means that the efforts made in the last year have performed to a large extent but also that there is still much room for improvement.
The nationwide survey was conducted between May 22-25 on a sample of 1,204 eligible adults.
