In 1985 the Queen Elizabeth B.honored David Attenborough with the title of Knight. Now, 37 years later, her son, Prince Charles, has awarded him the title of Knight of the Great Cross.
The award was given to Attenborough for his work as a television presenter, narrator and advocate for environmental protection, including his recent documentary on the natural world “Life in Color” on Netflix.
In 2005 the queen awarded him the Order of Merit. It is clear that his royal family United Kingdom has a deep affection for the famous naturalist and writer and Attenborough has a long-standing friendship with Queen Elizabeth II. In fact, the two were born just weeks apart in 1926.
Best known for creating nature documentaries such as “The Blue Planet”, by David Attenborough considered a national treasure in the United Kingdom. He recently appeared during the “Platinum Party” at Buckingham Palace, part of the celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II’s Jubilee Platinum Jubilee, and was a judge on Prince William’s Earthshot Award. Several years ago, the royal family watched the premiere of Atenborough’s “Our Planet” series.
