Singer Simony starts final stretch of cancer treatment

Diagnosed with bowel cancer, singer Simony shared on her Instagram that she was hospitalized to complete the last stage of treatment for the disease.

In her publication, the singer wrote: “Admitted for the final stretch. I’m just grateful. God has carried me in his arms this far.”

In October, Simony announced the end of the chemotherapy treatment and stated that the tumor had decreased by 50%. Since then, the singer has been undergoing radiotherapy sessions.

The singer revealed on August 3 that she had cancer in the bowel region. As she explained in a video posted on social media, the treatment should last about six months. She said she was “strong and confident” and “never got into a fight to lose”.

The doctor who attended her, oncologist Fernando Maluf, explained that the cancer is an epidermoid, discovered after the singer identified a ganglion in the groin area and performed a colonoscopy. The tumor is located at the end of the intestine, near the anus.
