Simone Mendes explains the end of the duo with Simaria: “She was tired”

Simone Mendes spoke again about the end of the duo with Simaria this Monday (08). In an interview with Ruth Moreira, mother of Marília Mendonça, the singer revealed that she had a sincere conversation with her older sister and understood her desire to move away from the stage.

“I spent 30 years singing with my sister, until the cycle ended. We came to each other and said: 'Look, what's it going to be like from now on?'. We talked, she was tired of working a lot, this life is busy and tiring”, began Simone.

Although speculation arose about an alleged fight, the singer stated that the pair came to an end due to a decision made by Simaria, who wanted to dedicate herself to her family. “[Ela] He decided to take a break, rest, look more at herself, at her children. Look and care. And I, as a sister, respected her wishes and decided to continue doing what has always moved me, which is singing. I've always loved singing. I decided to continue singing,” she said.

While Simone Mendes is already enjoying success in her solo career after scoring the hit “Erro Gostoso”, her sister announced that she will also return to the stage alone this year. The duo ended in August 2022, when a statement said that Simaria would “temporarily step away from the stage” to take care of her children and her vocal condition.

Since then, meetings between them have become rare and months after not being seen together, they met again for the wedding of the duo's brother, Caio Mendes, in November last year. At the time, Simone performed alone and both did not exchange interactions in the videos that had repercussions. However, the reunion was enough to make Coleguinhas fans happy.
