Simón Boric, chief of staff at the Rectorate of the University of Chile and brother of President Gabriel Boric, was attacked this Thursday (1st) by a group of people in downtown Santiago. Three other employees of the same university center were also attacked.
The incident took place outside the Central House of the higher education institution, located in Alameda.
According to the University of Chile, the attack took place “after one of them carried out an attempted robbery in a nearby location”.
From the University of Chile, they “strongly condemned this act of unnecessary and irrational violence” and called for “reflection on the way we relate to each other and on the country we want to build”.
Segpres minister Giorgio Jackson also condemned the attack on the four employees.
