Shawn Mendes postpones shows for mental health: “I reached the limit”

The singer Shawn Mendes announced, this Friday (8), a break of at least three weeks from his shows to take care of his mental health.

In a statement posted on Twitter, he wrote that he’s been playing shows since he was 15: “To be honest, it’s always been hard for me to be on the road and away from friends and family.”

“After a few years of not touring, I felt like I was ready to take the plunge again, but this decision was premature,” he added.

“The road and the pressure hit me and I hit a snag,” Shawn wrote.

He stated that he has spoken with his staff and healthcare professionals, and it has been decided that he needs to take time to “heal” and take care of himself and his mental health above all else.

The Canadian has been on a world tour since June 27 for his fourth album “Wonder”, released at the end of 2020. Of the 87 performances scheduled, he still has 80 ahead of him.
