«Sex and the City», Sarah Jessica Parker confirms the revival (but without Samantha Jones)

Not another movie, but a revival of the TV series. Sex and the City, which over the years has been one step away from returning to the cinema, with a new chapter in which Kim Cattrall has always declared not wanting to participate, will have its own television re-adaptation. To confirm it, it was Variety. Then, Sarah Jessica Parker, with a video intended for Instagram. “I can’t help but wonder where they are today,” the longtime star Carrie Bradshaw wrote online, posting what appeared to be a short trailer for the series to come.

In the images, all you see is New York. A lively New York, glimpses of the Brooklyn Bridge and yellow taxis. Then, a deserted New York and, in the middle, the characters of a typewriter, the same ones that, in the past, have accompanied every episode of Sex and the City, the original. “Just like then, the story continues”, it was possible to read among the fragments of Manhattan. “I grew up with these characters and I can’t wait to see how their stories have evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, the intensity, the humor and the beloved city, which has always defined them. Said Sarah Aubrey, head of original productions for Hbo Max, confirming the arrival, online, of a revival of Sex and the City.

The new series, in which will not play Kim Cattrall, the Samantha Jones of the original, it should be called «And just like that», Just like then. Filming, Coronavirus permitting, should begin next spring, in New York, and merge into ten half-hour episodes. To produce and act together Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York).
